What's this in my arse?

Been a bit sore up there lately. Thought it may be a small cut or something. Wiped (Sorry if tmi) a few days ago and there was a smear of blood. Nothing much.

Stuck my finger up for a poke around and there was a round, hard pustule up there, by the hole. Forgot all about it til today when I went to the loo and there was a sudden gush of blood-quite a lot of blood, actually.

It's still bleeding a bit but it's still round and hard.

What the heck is it? A haemmorhoid? Confused

Piles?

bluediamonds · 30/07/2017 18:02

Gosh, sorry I don't know what that could be.

elephantoverthehill · 30/07/2017 18:09

If it is a haemoroid pile that has burst you will probably need to wear sanitary towels for a few days. Get it checked tomorrow. Sometimes they do remove them surgically but in the meantime keep it clean. I'm not at all medical I just know of others who have suffered similarly.

Toysintheattic29 · 30/07/2017 18:16

Sounds like a haemoroid to me ..... if they burst you do get a bit of a gush but if you've just got the one you can ignore it for years. Mine came after pregnancy and hardly causes any bother. You can get suppositories to help calm them. See your GP if you are worried but if any blood from your bum is bright red, then it's usually nowt to worry about. I would only have surgery if it becomes a real problem. Just another thing we get after periods, stretch marks, giving birth, saggy boobs - and eventually the menopause!

I get this and never even been pregnant! Prone to constipation though. Almost certainly nothing but get it checked. I've had a colonoscopy because I'm so prone to red bleeding/piles and all was clear, just trying to eat more fibre.

Love the thread title Grin

Thanks for your input! I've been in Dr Google and I'm convinced it's a pile. It's stopped bleeding as much now.

I've been a bit constipated lately and - I didn't realise this- that it's a potential side effect of weight training. I've been weight training for ages so maybe that's the cause.

And there's me thinking my sanitary towel days were over.....Grin

Fybogel is your friend. Lots of water too.

buggerthebotox · 30/07/2017 21:27

Fybogel? That the strange orange stuff that's like wallpaper paste?

Yes it's awful but useful until the hemorrhoid heals to make the poo soft! Anusol is good too. (I'm a piles expert it would seem)

Rache11 · 30/07/2017 23:23

Be really careful with your diet & up your water. I had piles for years & then the worst fucking thing happened, I got a fistula so basically leaking all the time Blush & had to have an op to 'lay it open' fuck it was horrendous how I wish I'd not ignored the fuckers. Brown seeded bread is great, soup, roast veggies up your fibre basically then you won't get into trouble in the first place. A pp mentioned stool softener- I'm sure it works for some but just be careful to come off it slowly because after having soft stools for a while to go back to normal is painful & may put you back where you started !

buggerthebotox · 31/07/2017 09:32

Thanks all! I've got fybogel so will try some of that later. And I'll pop to the pharmacy for some Anusol later.

It's stopped bleeding for now.

I'm surprised I've never had one before, actually...

I hope it's not going to be one of those fistula things-think there was one featured on Embarrassing Bodies once..nice.

Why does weight training make you constipated?
I can understand weight training maybe making you more likely to get piles, you know if you're straining a bit when you lift?

Should say I've neither weight trained or had piles so I could be talking out of my arse (excuse the pun Wink).

buggerthebotox · 31/07/2017 09:48

margot did I say weight training makes you constipated? I didn't mean that if so.

However I think there's a link between weight training and not rehydrating myself afterwards. Which may account for the constipation, together with my limited diet.

57 years on the planet and not a pile in sight, until now!!

"I've been a bit constipated lately and - I didn't realise this- that it's a potential side effect of weight training."

That's the bit which made me ask - sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick Smile. Hope you get sorted: bum problems aren't nice.

buggerthebotox · 31/07/2017 13:11

margot I worded that sentence badly.

Been to to the pharmacist and got some Anusol. Will hopefully see Doc later in week.
