I've had a what I was told was a cyst in my right armpit for years, I got it checked the day I originally found it when it was dried pea sized and the GP said it was fine and she'd be happy to leave it there without it being anything sinister.
It's grown slowly over the years and is now ping pong ball sized usually painless but has got infected once before.
It's agony now, slightly pink and seems to have grown down deeper into my armpit the pain is radiating into my breast and up into my neck and jaw. I also have been having awful brain fog and extreme fatigue that's been worrying me.
So I've been to the GP this morning and she said whatever it is it's very infected so she's given me 7 days of antibiotics with strict instructions to go back if gets even remotely worse and to make an appointment with the women's health GP in 2 weeks to see exactly what it is. If it's a cyst they can remove it at the surgery, if it's a lymphnode then there will need to be further tests.
So now I'm terrified. No history of any breast cancer or other cancers anything apart from an uncle that I believe (80% sure) had lukemia, he certainly had a chancer but I can't remember which. He survived it but we aren't close enough for me to ask.
I'm 30, o don't smoke or drink and I'm slightly overweight (I'm doing something about that)
Any good news stories or just support while this is going on would be fantastic.
