Has anyone experienced pain in the bum before? It's happened 3 times in so many days now. Short lived but stop-in-your-tracks deep bum pain. I have today started my period but not had this before and worried.

Anyone?

Javelin Arse?

Winterc00kie · 26/07/2017 17:18

Piles?
trapped nerve?

Winterc00kie · 26/07/2017 17:19

constipated?

Babykoala1 · 26/07/2017 17:19

Could it be wind? I sometimes get intense arse pain when I have trapped wind. Literally feels like sitting on a sword.

user347658910 · 26/07/2017 17:20

Not constipated Blush. Can you get period pain in your bum?

OP posts:
PricklyCactuss · 26/07/2017 17:20

Could it be your coccyx?

TroysMammy · 26/07/2017 17:21

Do you mean an anal spasm?

JustMumNowNotMe · 26/07/2017 17:24

I ger period pain in my bum! Really sgarp stabbing pain, always have done. Had it during all 3 labours too, joy!

cathyandclare · 26/07/2017 17:26

I think it's called Proctalgia Fujax, I've had it several times, horrid but harmless

user347658910 · 26/07/2017 17:26

Holy shit I have to breathe through it and waddle for a few minutes.

OP posts:
cathyandclare · 26/07/2017 17:26

Fugax

Iggypupper · 26/07/2017 17:26

Yes! I used to get this all the time around my period. It was literally like a knife stabbing me right up my bum. Horrendous. Funny enough its stopped since I had my kids.

user347658910 · 26/07/2017 17:33

These spasms that have been mentioned... I guess that describes it; short lived but fecking hell kind of pain. Are they ominous?

OP posts:
confusedandemployed · 26/07/2017 18:13

Oh Javelin Arse. Yes it's horrible isn't it! I get it once in a while, I haven't died yet!

user347658910 · 26/07/2017 18:19

I've googled javelin arse - a fitting description but suggests endometriosis. Oh bloody hell more to worry about.

OP posts:
Iggypupper · 26/07/2017 18:29

Yes I remember reading about it being linked to endometriosis. I dont have endo. And have bern through the full catalogue of fertility tests before IVF. Javelin arse is very apt!

thisismadness77 · 26/07/2017 18:34

Javelin arse.

user347658910 · 26/07/2017 18:34

I've had two kids. Endo would have been picked up, right? Or can it develop any time?

OP posts:
Savvyandchips · 26/07/2017 18:43

Could be endo. I used to get this and had no clue what it was, but was diagnosed with endo when we were struggling to conceive. My endo was picked up during a laparoscopy...it's the only way it can be diagnosed. So perhaps worth a chat with gp if it continues?

catcatcatcat · 26/07/2017 18:55

I have this. In period & before period. After 2 children too. Had a scan via the Drs but found nothing / got a coil because they couldn't think of anything else and hasn't helped.

I was told as I could "live with it" then there's nothing they can do. Queue a feminist rant from me about "if it happened to men...."

user347658910 · 26/07/2017 19:08

Those of you who get it...how often? Does it come in waves? Clusters? Last a few days then nothing? Sorry for the bombardment!

1966gettingold · 27/07/2017 06:36

It is more likely to do with the pelvic floor muscles going into spasm , if it becomes more permanent than a women's health physio can help.

BusterGonad · 30/07/2017 20:04

I get javelin arse on my period. Always have done!
