Stubborn DH

DH has OI & OP. Doing some work in the garden, felt his rib 'pop'. Strapped it up with a back belt. Says he will see how it is in the morning.

We have a MI unit, but DH says that they don't do X-ray and will just strap it up like I have. No breathing issues, doesn't want to go anywhere tonight, but thinks it is broken. Stubborn man.

Osteoporosis and OI? Not sure what the initials mean.

Sometimes you have to make a decision for someone. Suppose something is broken time could be important. I'd be tempted to call 111 and see what they advise. I called the out of hours GP number (we still have them round here) when my DH was ill and they said "we are sending an ambulance" which rather stopped his reluctance to go to hospital.

Hopefully someone medical will be along soon with some advice.

Osteogenisis imperfeca aka brittle bone disease.

He has gone to work. Refuses to go to hospital as they will just strap him up. The problem is with OI, breaks are less painful but more complex. Once he was in the garage working under his car and the jack gave way and crushed him. He came into the house to say I think I have broken my arm and shoulder. He clearly had, it was all wonky. I called an ambulance as he passed out. He needed shoulder surgery and his wrist pinned and when asked by the paramedic his pain level from 1-10 he said 4! He just straps himself up and goes to work now. I could flatten him some times.
