Sore calves after resting

Trying to get an appointment with GP but thought I'd see if anyone else has had this in the meantime.

My calves are really sore after resting. I get out of bed in the morning, and walking downstairs feels like I've ran a marathon the day before! I have a desk job so I'm not running about all day. Legs are the same after I've been sat at my desk for a while, and then get up, too.

Once I've walked for a few mins, they ease up and are ok. No redness, swelling, or heat.

Any idea what this could be? Vitamin deficiency maybe? Has anyone else had sore calves for (seemingly) no reason?

Seeing the GP is best

They could test for Iron Levels
You may have a form of restless leg syndrome - may need a magnesium supplement and/or Vitamin D

Have you other conditions such as diabetes, IBS, Crohn's,, Celiac, arthritis etc. that could be linked to it ?

Good luck

Nope, no other conditions that I know about.

I do have a congenital heart issue (tachycardia) but I would've thought I'd have had these symptoms before now if it was linked to that.

Yes, will see GP, just wondered if maybe it was commonly linked to a vitamin deficiency etc. I have bad health anxiety and so I never google!

Have you thought about Achilles tendinitis? - how you describe is how I am and I have the same symptoms - classic signs are the difficulty walking after a night in bed!

No, I haven't heard of that Auntie. Does it effect you after sitting for periods during the day too (after driving etc?)
