Withdrawal bleed after ONE pill

Hi, hoping someone can help with some advice or experiences please!
I haven't been on birth control for months, couldn't find something that I could get on with and I came off everything thinking I might just not get on with hormones. However, my period has often been a few days later than expected and I've ended up panicking I might be pregnant despite using condoms. So, I decided to give microgynon a try.
I got it on Monday and took one pill then, it was the day after my period finished and I definitely was not pregnant. Tuesday I didn't take it again. Yesterday I started bleeding, ok, I understand withdrawal bleeding but after one pill? Today it's very heavy and I'm pissed to be having to deal with another period.
How long can I expect this to last?

It's the same period - you didn't keep going with the hormone so your period was still ready to go. Why did you not take it?

Had my period from the Thursday before until it finished Monday morning. Took one pill Monday night, so after my period had ended. Not ideal I know, but I was told just to keep using condoms for 7 days.

I stopped taking it because I've had very bad problems with depression and anxiety in the past (thankfully been fine for around a year) and I felt awful all of Tuesday. Couldn't stop crying and felt really really low. I know this might have had nothing at all to do with the pill but it came completely out of the blue and me and dh decided it's just not worth the risk.
Anyway, I'm still bleeding very heavily. So this should be just like another normal period?
