I had mumps when i was about 9, and now I think I have it again. I do know there have been several cases locally recently.
I have huge swollen glands esp on the R side of my face, a stiff neck, trouble chewing and swallowing, really dry mouth, pain in other glands in my armpits and groin, throwing up and feeling generally awful - still running a fever after 3 days of paracetamol and feel like `i am swimming through sand all the time.
The children are OK and I know they have all been exposed to it before as well as having the MMR, but dh has never had it.
I dont want to call out the weekend doc (or spend hours sitting in an OOH centre spreading it about) so I wondered if anyoneelse knew about it? Thanks!

You might have tonsilitis - in adults it's really nasty, I was hospitalised with it once and given IV antibiotics, I couldn't swallow - sorry don't want to scare you. You poor thing, bed for you today! Hope you feel better soon x
