Unexplained bleeding

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and am terrified.

I'm 51, peri menopausal- last period may, one before that August.

I've noticed over the past few months that I'm getting some bright red spotting sometimes if I strain to poo. Also I I put my finger into my vagina (gently) it feels sore and I get some bright red blood when I wipe. I haven't had intercourse for sometime. I have a constant strange sesnsation (bit like needing a wee but not quite).

Smears have always been on time and come back fine - last one maybe 2 years ago.

I'm sure it's nothing but in a bit of a flap - phoned gp for an appointment- they said they had none available and asked what problem was, I explained and she went to speak to gp, came back and asked me to come in at 830 tomorrow.

Now I'm scared- it's more likely to be nothing then something serious isn't it (my mum died of cancer at my age so I think I'm just being a worrier)

Bright blood when straining could be a small fissure?

I had an ectropian or cervical erosion that was sore and caused irregular spotting. Was referred by GP for a hysteroscopy where the also checked for polyps but sorted the erosion by cauterising it at same time.

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow Flowers

Thank you - I'm sure it'll be something straightforward was just a bit panicked as docs gave me an immediate appointment which is unheard of at our surgery

How did you get on?

Good news!! No signs of anything nasty - they think slight cervical erosion 😀
