16 WEEK IMMUNISATION

So, LB had his 3rd set of immunisations yesterday, was completely fine, his usual happy self! And then! At 2am he was inconsolable! He kept screaming, his temperature was 37.5 (now 36.4) and his poo shot out like water (tmi sorry), he breastfed too. It took 2 hours to settle him back down. Now we're up for the morning (1hr 30min), he keeps crying, he doesn't want to be held, put down. Really can't soothe him :( (feeling hopeless)

How was all your lo with their 3rd jabs and how long will all this last?
Feel like my poor baby's been replaced!

Yes we had inconsolable crying too. Have you given Calpol to bring down a temperature? We just tried distraction (went outside etc) and it passed. I don't remember exactly when but didn't last long. It's tough Sad

Sorry to hear that and I hope he is feeling better soon Flowers
It seems to be the rotavirus vaccine that causes the issues.
Can you call the nurse at the GP surgery for advice?
It can take babies a few days to "recover" from these jabs.
Is he taking milk ok now, producing plenty of wet nappies?

My DD was actually fine for for her 16 weeks jabs, she was only unwell for the 8 weeks ones, temperature and grizzly for about 24 hours.

Hope he feels better soon!

Not this baby but 2yo had awful diarrhoea for over 2 weeks after Rotavirus, its quite normal unfortunately. Juat be extra vigilant with hand washing after nappy changes so you don't get it too

bendingspoons Yes, he's had calpol. He's currently sleeping (well on off but no screaming yet) and yeah, I'm hoping to go outside once shopping has arrived.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers Thank you! & he didn't have the rota virus drops with this one, just 3 injections in legs. He's feeding fine, he's wanting boob for comfort but sometimes getting annoyed because he doesn't want the milk. Plenty of good nappies.

JustMumNowNotMe Using plenty of hand sanitizer (always used it anyway, weird habit since school)

DS got increasingly more unsettled following each set of jabs. After the 3rd set he had a raging temperature (was brought down by calpol) for the first night followed by diarrhoea for about 5 days. Eventually settled down but had to make sure he drank lots as he was showing signs of dehydration (fewer wet nappies and sunken soft spot).

Hope he's feeling a bit better
