How long does it take to change GP Practices?

I handed in a registration form to another GP surgery on Friday. All they said was well get in touch with you. I know it will vary from surgery to surgery but how long does it generally take to switch gps? And how will they let me know?

You should get a letter letting you know you're now registered with them. Takes maybe a couple of weeks?

Couple of weeks should be fine. I've just never went through this experience before so I don't know what to expect lol
