Toenail Trauma

I fell over a door step yesterday morning, causing trauma to my big toe. It's come off at the top but still attached at the bottom. Not sure what to do as I can't wear any shoes other than flip flops ( back to work Tuesday.)

It clearly needs to come off completely but is too painful for me to be able to pull it off. Do I need to see a GP? I'm presuming it's past chiropodist/podiatrist help.

I have a grim photo if anyone can stomach it 😱

DS had similar with his thumb nail we were told to tape it firmly and check it every week pr so. After a few weeks it came away with the tape. Hurt a little and is still taped while the nail regrows.
I've done similar with my toe nail once, I soaked my foot for hours drank some wine and pulled it off. I don't recomend that much as it hurt quite a bit.

Thanks Nosy. Not sure I'm as brave as you though, but I was thinking along the same lines re. Taping up and hoping it will come off in time.
