Experience of bladder removal operation?

My Ddad has bladder cancer and has been recommended to have his bladder taken out. Does anyone have any experience of that? How is the surgery and what happens after?

Dr Mary Archer- wife of Jeffrey- had this done. You may find something online.They try to make a new bladder out of the intestines but it can take a while to get it to work.
Have you checked the various cancer charity websites and googled the op- there will be loads online.
