white spots on DDs tongue

I have just noticed that my DD (18 mon) has white spots (like little ulcers) at the front of her tongue. She was a little unsettles last night and has a runny nose but otherwise fine. She has had one MMR shot. Anyone know what this may be? I have heard it could be the first sign of measles. Can she get measles if she has had MMR? When I collected her from nursery on wednesday she was sitting next to a boy who was waiting for his mum to pick him up. He clearly had a runny nose and looked poorly.

I thought the koplix (sp?) spots you get with measles are on the inner cheeks rather than on the tongue?

It maybe the start of hand foot and mouth?

not sure. i read it can appear on the tongue as well. i havent checked inside her cheeks and she is asleep now. I dont want to bother the doc unless she is acytually unwell. It was just puzzling me.

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 23/03/2007 20:32

Yeah I was just going to say that as the info I posted says hand foot and mouth is red spots when you goole white spots thrush comes up. I hope she's feeling betetr tommorrow.

Nemo2007 · 23/03/2007 20:35

there is a run of hand foot and mouth going around at the min. Will more likely be thrush though.

So many bugs at the min all of us have been ill this week with one or other..DH is currently at walk in centre with the littlest fish!

Aww no Nemo I hope she gets better soon. We're into our 10th week of illness here E had conjunctivitis and tummy bug at the beginning of the week and now Jack has conjunctivitis and a raging cold. Roll on Summer!

Thanks to you all. I am sure she will be fine. I shall keep a close eye on her.
