Babys poos, colic or lactose intolerance??

Hiya all

My baby boy is 5 weeks old today. Ive dealt with colic before and it seems similar to me the only difference in being, every nappy we change hes pooed, its runny and mustard colour like.

We have already changed his milk from cow and gate premium to cow and gate comfort (omneo) and it still seems as if his milk is going right through him. As hes drinking hes filling his nappy.

He often spends from 8pm to roughly 11pm everynight screaming (only for the last 2/3 days though) and roughly an hour in the afternoon. He has hiccups alot and when we are burping him all at the same time he burps, gags and coughs (like hes choing if you get me!)

We have tried infacol (he brought up more feedson this though) gripe water is my next step but I just wanted to see what you thought. The only thing that seems to calm him down is to lay him on his tummy my poor little man

thanks x x

You could try Dentinox colic drops which as far as I understand you actually put in the milk with the feed.
You could also try this website www.reflux.org which will help you to see whether it is colic or reflux. As far as the poo goes it sounds like the colour and consistency of most bottle fed babies, but I know what you mean about the milk going right thru' my dd1 used to sound like a drain, she was diagnosed with a dairy allergy at 17 months, after months of problems. Despite this she never really improved and was diagnosed with reflux just before her 4th birthday - she is know having treatment and is much better.
Have you got a sympathetic health visitor and/or GP?
Good luck
