This is a petition asking a drug company (Novartis) to drop a legal action they are bringing against the government of India . Novartis's aim is to change Indian patent law in a way that allows them to maximise their profits. The likely effect will be to deny millions of people access to affordable generic drugs. MSF (Medicins Sans Frontieres) is co-ordinating a petition asking Novartis to drop the case for ethical reasons.
