Think I may have pneumonia

On Monday I started feeling really dizzy and noticed a crackle sometimes when I was breathing deeply. Yesterday I started feeling really ill; pain in my chest when breathing in deeply, feverish, banging headache, nausea and a cough. Hardly slept (hence why I'm on here at this time!). I'm going to phone the doctors first thing but just wondered if this sounds like pneumonia to anyone else?

It could be. You may also have walking pneumonia. It's smart to see a doctor right away.

I had those symptoms and it was bronchitis but was given antibiotics as a prophylactic measure as was pregnant at the time and bronchitis can develop into pneumonia. Definitely worth seeing the doc. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

I had those symptoms and has bronchitis. I even had a chest x Ray (which came back clear) as was suffering so much. Two lots of antibiotics sorted me out.

Could be pleurisy with the pain on breathing - I'd get checked out. If it is try not to worry it's certainly not nice and can take a while to clear up but is treatable with anti biotics.

Could be bronchitis, plureisy or pnuemonia.

Bronchitis is further up but can be very painful. Pleurisy is very sore and tends to be a sharp stabbing pain.
Pneumonia is lower down, usually pain is in your back but that's not exclusively so. Generally all 3 make you feel rotten.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm currently sat in A and E waiting for the results of my blood tests then think I can go home. I rang 111 at 5 this morning as I couldn't wait until my gps opened. Spoke to the out of hours gp who sent for an ambulance as he thought he might be sepsis! Confused I felt like a huge drain on their resources and really felt I didn't need an ambulance. I've had an ECG, chest x-ray and bloods and everything has come back ok so far.
