Please help re my stop-start periods 😢

Last October I went back on the pill after 6 years off. I got prescribed cerelle. I stopped taking it in January as I basically just bled for the entire time I was on it.
I then waited a couple of months during which had a couple of more normal periods in this time, although they were heavy and long (9ish days)
I started taking cilest in March. this was the same pill I'd been on years ago with no problems. Since I've been on it, my periods have become more normal again with the exception of this. I now have a normal period that lasts maybe 5 days. Then it stops completely. Then a couple of days later I start bleeding red blood again. Not loads but a reasonable amount. This lasts for a further day or two, then maybe a day if brown, then it stops again and nothing until my next period is due. I just don't understand how it stops completely and then starts with red blood again.

Does anyone have any thoughts or has experienced this themselves?

The bleed with the CCP is not a period, it's a withdrawal bleed ( you know that!)
The simplest answer is that the hormone level is too low or the wrong balance of oestrogen and progestogens for you so the bleeding is erratic. Sounds as if you need a higher dose of one or other of the hormones in a different pill.
Or you GP needs to assess if you have something like a fibroid.
