Due to start drinking it tonight. Any tips to make it go down with ease ?

I added a tiny bit of squash. Not blackcurrant . Make sure you give yourself enough time to drink it all as you have to also drink water. I was fine until the last half a jug then i was fed up of pooing and was feeling a bit sick but not unbearable.

I added apple juice or ginger beer. Any fluid has to be colourless. It tastes absolutely disgusting and I found it easier to swallow with a straw placed at the back of my mouth. Also vaseline and baby wet wipes for the 'other end' - don't use paper tissue or you will have a sore bum. Good luck!

Yes, straw right at the back of your mouth and just slurp it as fast as possible. Have another nicer drink to take sips of if the Moviprep taste becomes too much. I can't remember exactly what you're allowed to drink, but I think I had orange squash.

Just had a thought. Hospitals don't like Vaseline (petroleum jelly) 'cos it's a Health & Safety issue. So best to not use it for the 'other end'.

OK no Vaseline. I've got sudocream if it gets bad ! Starving already !

Have the Sudocrem handy. Neck the Moviprep! If you add juice, it has to be clear and not any dark ones (blackcurrant can dye your intestines darker). I had to stop having Movi because it's so disgusting I kept throwing it up. If you can't tolerate it, ask for Picolax next time.

Picolax is a lot less volume to drink. You do a couple of small glasses and that's it. The Moviprep is so much liquid; I can't even drink a whole pint of squash in one go, let alone a few litres of salty lemon yuck.

It's not necessarily salty. I work in endoscopy and it's a mixed bunch between too sweet or too salty

Thanks all first litre down . First couple of glasses I thought it wasn't to bad. Towards end it was making me feel sick.
How long till it starts working ? Next litre not till 6am !

Not long! Feels like you're being washed out with a power hose.

Most people don't experience 'anything' until they start the second dose.

Picolax gives me a migraine; I quite simply cannot quaff enough fluid to avoid dehydration so migraine + colonoscopy = hell on earth to me 😰
DH had Moviprep and gagged with each mouthful, Picolax actually heats up in the glass when you add water so god knows what it does to your guts!

Ah Moviprep... the first gallon doesn't do much and you are left wondering if it will work... then you start the next lot and at some point will wish you had a seatbelt to tether yourself to the loo....

I admit I had white wine to help take the taste away and my colon was congratulated on it's pristine appearance at my colonscopy!

Hope the prep isn't too bad-not looking forward to when I have to do mine but at the same time just want it all done and out of the way!
Will try to gulp as much of the Moviprep as possible and if struggling will add orange cordial.

You can have tea and coffee just no milk !

Scope went fine. Everything looked normal but he's taking some biopsies . The prep was definitely the worse bit ! Thanks for all the advice !

Good stuff! The prep always is the worst bit. I've always found the scope to be interesting.
