Has anyone had treatment for a cervical erosion?

I have been told by the dr that I have to have my erosion cauterised. The reason I knew about it was that I had slight bleeding occasionally after sex.
I have a preliminary appt in May, but am wondering how simple a procedure it is. I keep hearing things like you can't drive for 48 hours and I will need a few days off work and will bleed for weeks. Trouble is dh works away a lot of the time so am on my own and it will be difficult to have help with the dss. Also in the summer dh is away for 3 weeks in the summer hols, then we are abroad for 2 weeks and the day after we come back he is away for 2 weeks again, so that effectively leaves the summer out. I don't think I would want it done in the weeks before I went abroad anyway in case of bleeding. Hopefully I am making a mountain out of a molehill (I usually do ) and it is just a quick easy procedure. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has had it done.
Thanks xx

Hi I had my erosions lasered which wasn't a nice experiene but didn't cause any problems after. I was back to work next day. I had a little bleeding after for a day or so but nothing major.
Not sure whether having them cauterised is much different

Hi Sidey, no I'm not sure if it is the same either. I hope so as you made a quick recovery.
