Going to see specialist about episiotomy scar: what should I expect??????

Hello everyone,
Following on from my "will I ever have sex again" thread. I've moved house and moved GPs. I went to see the new GP, and told him about the problems that I'm having with my episiotomy scar and he felt that at this stage (5 months) things should have improved and that I need to see a specialist.
So I'm very that things are moving on, especially compared to the last GP who just told me that I should have sex to stretch the scar, or that a specialist would do nothing until they were convinced that I'd finished having children .
But I have no idea what to expect from a specialist. Will they recommend surgery? DH is keen to try other options first; are there any? I think I'd rather just get things sorted rather than mess about.
Mind you, that's what happened at the delivery, I had tried really hard for a natural delivery, but as things were going really wrong I wanted a CS. DH knew that, but sided with the doctor who gave me an epi without asking my permission.
OK, must must must get over the delivery thing...

Sorry, also have a big fear that they won't believe me and they'll tell me that everything is fine and that it's all in my head. Am I being irrational?
