Penile injury (DP)

My DP managed to poke himself quite hard in underside of his penis this morning while washing in the shower 🤦🏻‍♀️
He's gone to work but is in quite a bit of pain still despite taking some ibuprofen.
He's not registered with a GP at the moment so I'm looking for a bit of advice really, any idea what sort of damage he could have caused and should he try to get some medical attention or probably likely to resolve on its own? I imagine it's like bruising any other area of the body surely? Or maybe not

he says washing it but who knows?

If he can manage to get to work I would think he's ok. If he's really desperate he could go to a walk in centre.

Maybe a bag of frozen peas on it if he can handle it?

Haha not sure a bag of peas on his crotch will go down well at work but I'll offer him one when he gets home.
I thought it would have calmed down by now which has made me think he may have actually done some damage.
