Early summer Encephalitis

Hi.
We are going to Austria in summer where the risc of ticks carrying the early summer encephalitis virus.

Has anyone vaccinated their kids for a holiday before? Did your regular surgery do the vaccination and what did it cost?

Mine have had travel vaccines. Some are free and some cost money. I had to speak with the practice nurse, she advised which ones to have, prescriptions were done and then I had to collect them from the chemist to take to the nurse at the surgery and she administered them.

I only have experience of Japanese Encephalitis vaccine as we live in Asia, there is cost info for what you are looking for in the link above. Note that it's per dose.

Yep timing of these things can be challenging. I'm in the middle of a move and reviewing vaccinations for the whole family which is why your post caught my eye. Good luck and have a great holiday.
