spotting - post-menopause

Hi,

My periods stopped well over a year ago and I am in my late fifties. Just had a little spotting yesterday and the day before. No other symptoms, but have experienced some cramps in lower abdomen increasingly over the last few months - these may not be related at all to the spotting.

I know I need to see the GP, but I am a bit scared about the procedures. I will make an appointment first thing tomorrow.

Has anyone else had similar symptoms and, if so, what happened?

When I was in my 50s I was on HRT and had a period after 2 years of none. GP sent me to A&E but I was told it was only a "break through" and quite common when on HRT.
I did have a Hysteroscopy afterwards just to make sure nothing was untowards and nothing was found. I had a scrape too.
