I'm due gallbladder removal on Wednesday and I'm terrified! More about the recovery time than anything as I have an autistic child who I have to pretend that everything is ok and normal too so she dosnt freak out or shut down
Any positive experiences of recovery are very much needed rite now
I know I need to be realistic about it but also how long until you went back to work?
Thankyou

I was driving 6 days after mine. It was a bit sore but it was my sons birthday and cake needed to be brought and balloons blown up!
It was honestly not too bad pain wise. I took tramadol for a week or so and was just a bit careful standing/turning over in bed etc.
Good luck! It's SO much better now, the awful pain is gone. I still have my gallstones somewhere, I woke up with them on my side tray Grin

My daughter had hers removed age 11. No worries.

I had my gall bladder removed a few years back, very straight forward, performed by keyhole surgery, I haven't looked back. So great to be out of that awful pain caused by the gallstones. Try not to worry OP gallbladder removal is one of the most performed operations, you will be in safe hands. Take it easy for a few days.

Thankyou
Did the anaesthetic make you feel bad at all?

The anaesthetic was fine, just very tired for a few days after, no sickness. Is It your first operation OP? Honestly, try to not worry you will feel so much better when it's done. Gallstone pain is one of the worse pains I have ever experienced, my gallstones were like tiny seeds but they caused me so much pain. Try to keep yourself distracted over the next few days. Good luck OP. Xx

Yes my first
I hate not being in control and I'm getting so anxious but I'm also looking forward to eating properly again and not being in pain
My younger children will be fine with it they are very easy going but my eldest will struggle so I have to be up and functioning fir her
She's very perceptive and o really don't want to scare her

Try to think positive, I know it is a scary prospect my DS' were very little when I had my gallbladder surgery, 4 & 2. Have you got support for when you come home? Take any offers for help, you may not need it though. I can honestly say the pain after the op was fine and easily managed. I hope your DD copes ok, you should only be in for one night. Good luck OP. It will be fab to eat whatever you fancy again, without that awful pain. You will be fine. Xx
