Very early period

Hello! First post here Smile Since I started my birth control, my menstruation cycle has undergone a small change from 28 to 24 days..I have always been very regular and on schedule. It has only been about 9 days since the ending of my last period and yesterday I started bleeding again. It started as light brown spotting, and today is has been dark red (almost black) and just barely enough to fill a small panty liner. It is definitely way lighter than a normal period for me, though I have had really light ones before, but also unusual timing. But from what I have read, it doesn't seem quite like implantation bleeding? Its been consistent spotting for 24 hours now. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Dark brown and black is old blood. Could just be your body getting rid of old left over blood from last period. You say it doesn't sound like implantation bleeding, are you still on the birth control? Because if you are it's unlikely to be implantation bleeding because of the birth control.
Could just be your body getting used to being on it, that can start off a little all over the place until your body gets into a cycle. How long have you been on the birth control for?

It could be...I am still on birth control but I only took it 4 out of 7 days last week. I am really bad at consistently taking it. I have been on it for a little more than a year and a half. Because I was so inconsistent last week, I think there's a possibility that I'm pregnant, but I don't know what to expect with the bleeding

Ah, been on it for quite a while then, so it's not your body getting used to it. And with the missed pills it is a possibility that you could be pregnant. Altho that was just last week, so could be a little early for implantation, but might not be also. Implantation is light spotting and can vary. I'd wait out n see if you have your proper period when your due on in a few weeks.
Not much help I know! Hmm

Thank you! My husband says the same thing but I just hate the waiting! We would love to be pregnant right now and I just want to know Smile

So this bleeding ended up lasting about 3 days. It got progressively heavier but still only enough to use a small panty liner. Most of it was dark and then it got a littler redder at the end. Does that give you new ideas? Hmm

It literally is spotting, or very light bleeding. How you describe it is a small amount not enough to fill a pantyliner. So, my theory is it's either old period blood randomly coming out ( which sometimes happens to me) or it is indeed spotting. Try not to think about it too much, as if you do you could potentially be setting yourself up for a downfall if it turns out not to be spotting. You need to try n wait out until your due. Or buy one of those early preg tests that tests 5 days before period is due. I always wait now until days after my period is due, because I've had a few chemical pregnancies.
So, let the painful, annoying, pain the ass wait commence! Smile In the mean time try to chill out n have a wine. Wine

You are def right. No sense in psyching myself out when there is nothing I can do about it anyways. Oh how I hate the waiting though. sigh.

I think I'm right but I'm no doctor! Lol. But I've been through this conception bollocks and 2WW enough times to know now. It is stressful, and always on your mind. But the fact of the matter is, what will be will be. And thinking anything won't change that, so might as well just let nature do its thing. For the record I haven't had a baby yet, and I'm not pregnant, so I defo know what your going through.
