Shingles question

I've had a really sore throat develop today and a deep feeling of fatigue. The top of my leg has burning and pricking pain (so much so that I tore my trousers off thinking that I had a pocket full of sharp pins) only to find no marks at all. The burning pain has continued and I'm wondering whether I have early symptoms of shingles. Can you tell me your experiences of shingles please.

I've had shingles seven times - and it has varied a bit each time. I usually get it on my head and then I have the burning pain (feels like nettle stings but worse and with sharp pulses of pain as the nerve 'fires' off) before I get the rash.
I've also had it round my rib and in that case the rash came first.
The rash is usually quite obviously in a line along the nerve - quite distinct.
I usually feel a bit fluey - temperature, achy, tired.
It's worth getting it checked if you think you might have it because the anti virals will work better if you get them earlier
