Just wondering if anyone else out there has had the same experience... I had my son in August last year and got my first period after the birth in january. well... ITS NEVER ENDED!!!!!

Seriously I am still on it. And its full flow bleeding. Went to my USELESS gp about it several weeks ago and she said it was because of the birth control I am on... I think its called cerazette or something like that it is a progesterone only pill. She said to come back in 3 weeks if it still hadnt stopped and she would put me on a different birth control.

The practice nurse suggested it could be some sort of damage from Alex's birth and that I should have an internal exam. The GP did no examination. Any thoughts? Experiences?

I would see another GP in the practice and ask for an urgent referral to a gynaecologist.

I wonder what it could be if not the birth control?

Go back to the doctor - see a different one if you can, but go back even if you have to see the same one. You say it's been "several weeks" since you saw the GP - her advice will probably be different now, given that it's been going on for so much longer.

yeah I am going to make an appointment to see a Dr tomorrow. I just wonder what it is. I had a massive bleed when Alex was born. So dont know if something has ripped in there or not. DH is scared he will hurt me if we had sex.

I had a similar thing after I finihsed breastfeeiding my daughter, would just keep bleeding for weeks on end! I had a few courses of progesterone which always stopped it straight away and then it would start again as soon as the course finished. Doctor thought it might be fibroids, which it wasn't but could be worth asking about having a scan in case? She eventually put me on a combined pill called Logynon, which cleared up the bleeding, having said that it was probably just related to having recently started periods after breastfeeding, but that I'd only know when I came off the pill again. Think it's fairly common, but that's no comfort when you're having to put up with it!

I am going back to the doctor tomorrow night. I just wish I didnt have such a useless GP. I even tried calling the doctor on the Wright Stuff this morning but I didnt get through.
