Boob clinic tomorrow

Have had a couple of lumps on chest wall for a while, near armpit.
Have appointment tomorrow with a surgeon?
What to expect? ?

If it's a standard breast clinic appt, you'll have a chat with the consultant and an examination. Then you'll go for an ultrasound and/or mammogram (normally mammogram is only if you are 40+). If they see anything that needs closer examination then they'll take a needle biopsy. Back to consultant again for debrief. Some clinics give you the biopsy results after a few hours (I think) but others you'll have to wait a week or so. Either way you'll have a reasonable idea of what the lumps are by the end of the day.

9/10 lumps are benign so you've got a very good chance of walking away with the all-clear later on today. I know how you are feeling - everyone thinks they'll be the 1/10 who isn't so lucky.
