And in sole charge of a three yesold. I didn't think it's. Would be this strong. I'm quite small and had a wine with my sister and then felt shot after she left like coldy feeling so took some night nurse that my mum bought me when I was unwell but I never tried it because I was taking lots of other meds. Is this normal or am I having a reaction to it maybe?

I use it for insomnia which happens a few times a month. It's pretty decent stuff like that.

Time for bed maybe? You'll be fine in the morning.

JaneEyre70 · 12/06/2017 21:37

I'm fairly sure you shouldn't take it with alcohol Hmm as it is codeine, paracetamol and antihistamine........ go to bed and sleep it off, and drink lots of water.

RedStripeIassie · 12/06/2017 21:40

I'm in bed and trying to stay up because I'm worried about be too sleepy for dd.
It was one glass earlier and I'm regretting it. It's making me a bit worried

If you're worried, get someone to come and stay with you. You really shouldn't mix medication and alcohol, night nurse is pretty serious stuff.

Dawnedlightly · 12/06/2017 21:43

Did you take more than the dose?

gamerchick · 12/06/2017 21:45

Meh I have a couple of beers on it on occasion. Don't let that stop the scare mongering though Hmm

It just makes you sleepy, you'll still wake up if you have to.

Arcadia · 12/06/2017 21:45

It doesn't have codeine in it, it's paracetamol and promethazine hydrochloride. You could have a tea or coffee to counteract it a bit. Don't worry if you took the correct dosage it won't do any harm and you would still wake for your child. I used to take it all the time (as a tablet - phenargan and sominex).

onthewagonwheel · 12/06/2017 21:45

Did you take a full dose? I used to take it for insomnia and only needed half the stated dose. I'm quite small too. A full dose would totally knock me out for 12+ hours, without wine.

Maybe get someone to stay over with you if you're worried about dd.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 12/06/2017 21:46

You just need to sleep it off. It's the promethazine that's making you feel sedated, it's a sedative antihistamine.

I used to take the tablets after a night shift occasionally, better sleep ensued.

Arcadia · 12/06/2017 21:46

I actually take some when I have been drinking sometimes as otherwise I have a restless night after booze. Don't let people panic you!

RedStripeIassie · 12/06/2017 21:47

Just the 20ml dose. I didn't expect it to be so strong. Relief that i will still wake up if I needs to though.

Apologies, I thought it had codeine in. But it does say on the warnings not to take with alcohol.

Minime85 · 12/06/2017 21:56

Hope your ok. Sure you'll hear them. It knocks me right out and I can only take when I haven't got work next day as I can't open my eyes!

LorLorr2 · 12/06/2017 21:59

Could you have DD in bed with you if you're worried? Does she need you in the night often, or you're just concerned she might on the off-chance because you're dozy? x

RedStripeIassie · 13/06/2017 08:43

Predictably I fell asleep very quickly Grin.

It was fine and I was easily woken up by dd for a midnight cuddle when she came to bed.

It's strong stuff though!
