I think I heard that you need to eat no latere than 9pm but I reckon it probably depends more on when you go to bed.

How late are you eating?

dinny · 20/03/2007 07:59

prob 9pm at latest - but then usually fall asleep watching TV at 10

hmm maybe not long enough between eating and going to sleep

not sure why it would sudden;y start to bother you though if it hasn't before. can you think of anything else that could be the issue

Have you eaten differently for the last few days or something?

jalopy · 20/03/2007 08:02

Try making your last snack 2/3 hours before bedtime.
Don't drink caffeine late at night.
After eating, don't bend down to pick things up or do vacuuming. Sit for a while to let the food go down.
Avoid spicy, rich food.
Avoid alcohol late in evening.
If I think of any more I'll let you know

isn't indigestion is something that affects you as you get older, TR?

I think you're supposed to leave 2 hours between last meal and bedtime

Sadly - the older you get the worse it gets. Eating my evening meal earlier, drinking lots of water during the day, and with meals helps me.

have asked my mum and she says form about 35/36 she started being unable to eat late at all as got bad indigestion - as I am 34, I reckon that's what's happening...

good for the ole diet tho!
