Bleeding between periods

Never happened before, then last two cycles I've had some bloody discharge a few days after AF. Not massive amounts or clots or anything, but definitely something. I'm not using any contraception and haven't been for a few months (we're TTC DC2) so it's not related to that. I've booked an appt with the GP but it's not for a couple of weeks and obviously I have been googling and convinced myself of all kinds of horrors. FWIW my family history is riddled with cancer so I'm a bit paranoid despite just being in my forties! Should I try and get an emergency appt or go to a walk-in clinic sooner, or chill out and wait to be told it's nothing, or I'm peri-menopausal or something?

Are your smears up to date, if not get one done. If you are not monogamous, or you suspect your partner isn't get a full sexual health screen. These are things you can get on with whilst waiting for GP. Have you done a pregnancy test?

Test is a BFN, I have a smear at every reminder but will have to check when the last one was! I do trust DP and even if either of us had the inclination i don't think we'd have time to cheat with a 17-month old and full-time jobs - but then I've known others think that too, until they found out. An STI check is always a good idea anyway! Thanks @mary21 that's helpful. I feel a bit happier if I'm doing stuff!

No more googling!. Dr Google is not your friend here.

I would see your GP asap, any changes to your cycle should be reported to such a person. It may be hormonal in nature but it should be looked into all the same. Blood tests can be done to tell you what your hormone levels are like now; it may be that you are not ovulating regularly.

You're right, Attila steps away from DT Google. No more googling!
