Asthma attack

Hi,

I had my first asthma attack on Monday evening. Reliever worked after 6 puffs thank god and I saw my gp yesterday who prescribed steroids.

She said it could take a few days to recover though and I was wondering if that's normal? I'm exhausted and achy and my chest is very sore. Peak flow is still only 240 this morning too. She's worried I'm going to have another attack as it's common to have more while your lungs are weaker, so wants me to rest.

New to all this, so no idea what's 'normal'! X

I'd phone asthma uk, they're hugely helpful and can answer all your questions. I couldn't get my head around the fact I have asthma (I think I've always had it mildly) and they were brilliant at explaining it repeatedly.
