so we thought my DM had alzheimers(she is 81). After much persuading she went to the GP. AFter a few more months, hospitpal for alz/dementia process - which includes scans. Revealed a big lymphoma on left side of head, which is being operated on in a fortnight.
so, can anyone tell me what the operation is likely to involve? I understand it may only be exploratory, so then what is recovery time? how invasive would the operation be? will they remove a piece of her skull to get at the lymphoma? I haven't been at the doctor/hospital, but will be there to support Dad/Mum around time of operation and I would like to be informed. I would also like to know, may ask surgeon, how long this thing has been growing in my mum's head.
Thank-you.

It usually is just a biopsy that's done initially to confirm diagnosis and then referral to the oncologist for a treatment plan.
