I've had significant hip pain since 2008, but usually just a couple of episodes per year. It's been getting worse for the last couple of years, and I was basically in significant pain (weekly private physio) from Sept to march this year.
I've seen a consultant and had MRI arthrogram on both hips, and the right has a labral tear. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to discuss options, one of which is arthroscopy.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a hip arthroscopy and how they found it? Was it much time off work? Did it help?
I had a tear in my shoulder repaired last year, so am familiar with the basic idea, but hip surgery sounds so much more serious.
Sometimes I am pain free with my hip, then other times it's so painful for weeks that I'm on strong painkillers and can barely function. If anyone can share their experiences, that would be great.
