Argh DH has just taken too many ibuprofen...

DH came home from work with a migraine and has just taken 2 ibuprofen tablets, unfortunately there are 400mg EACH so effectively has just taken 800mg.

Should he be worried? Do anything?

he maximum amount of ibuprofen for adults is 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 maximum doses). Use only the smallest amount of ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine needed to get relief from your pain, fever, or cold symptoms.

so he should be fine

make sure he eats something. 800mg usually recommended total for entire day, so he shouldn't take any more today.
there is an 800mg slow release version of ibuprofen, so one would hope he'll be fine.

He'll be fine, just don't exceed the daily maximum dosage. Even then he would be fine so long as he was't doing it every day, they set the dosage for over on the shelf drugs well, well within safety limits.

I have taken 1200mg before now as recommended by my dr for sciatica. I am sure he will be fine.

He will be fine, he needs to make sure he eats though.

I did the same thing once, years ago. I then drove about 130 miles home, although I had to have the car window open all the way, radio up loud as I kept feeling drowsy. Didn't realise why until the next day.

But I'm still here to tell the tale (and I'm really tiny and light, so that dose shouldn't hurt a standard bloke).

Let him sleep would be my guess.
