I am in on my own so can't go to chemist or wherever.

Wine not working.

have you got any soluble painkillers that you can gargle?

failing that, a spoon of honey

best thing for a sore throat is an ice lolly or ice cubes - was given a bucketful of ice cubes to suck in a hospital to numb the back of my throat and it does work!

gargle with soluble asprin or move on to stronger booze

Poor you .

If my throat is sore I make a hot toddy (boiling water, couple of slices of lemon, honey and two paracetemol tabs dissolved in it).

I also suck on a boiled sweet just before going to sleep which often helps as it keeps the saliva flowing.

Hope you feel better soon.

More wine! you'll be too distracted to think about how much it hurts

Gargle with Tcp tonight and first thing tomorrow morning. Then go to pharmacy and ask for Strefen throat pastilles. They're the biz!!

TeeCee · 16/03/2007 20:02

WideWebWitch · 16/03/2007 20:58

Might you have tonsilitis? If so you'll need anti biotics, it won't just go

painkillers in the meantime

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2007 20:59

Sage tea is marvellous, you think "oh yesh right " but it really does work

(just infuse dried sage in boiling water, strain then gargle with it)

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2007 21:00

Of course if you are sober you might think "oh yes" instead of "oh yesh"
