facial rash in baby

DS2 is 8 months and has developed a rash this afternoon - its small - just across one cheekbone. Pinprick size red spots, bit blotchy.
He seems well, bit grumpy but nothing unusual. He did fall off the bed today but that was a few hours ago
Any ideas?

Lisa, presumably you've done the glass test (the one where you press a glass against the spots to see if they blanch ie the redness disappears)? As I'm sure you know already, a non-blanching rash, where the spots remain during the glass test, could potentially be meningitis so you need to seek urgent medical attention.
Having said all that, it's probably fine, but felt I had to mention it to be on the safe side.
