Irregular heartbeat and dizzy spells

Friday night I noticed that DHs heart rate was irregular whilst he was sleeping, normal steady beats then a cluster of fast beats, then steady beats again. I told him yesterday morning and suggested he see a Dr next week, he then admitted he was sent home from work last week because he was having dizzy spells. He has a family history of young heart attacks and strokes and is also on medication for a serious mental illness (citalopram and olanzapine) which increase your risk of heart disease and stroke. He is quite overweight (the meds cause cravings of fatty foods) unfit, and has smoked and drunk heavily from his teens until recent times, and also has a history of drug use in his teens and early 20s. He's only 30 but obviously not a picture of health. He is planning to see a Dr on weds when he has a day off work, I think its more urgent, but not sure if I am pannicing. I dont want to stress him about it as stress is a trigger for relapse of his mental illness too.

He needs an ECG...like now!
He should not wait until Wednesday.

ECG and holder as a minimum.

I get episodes like this, and it came back as runs of extra beats. I am not unfit, overweight, and have no structural heart problems. In my case, it's benign (albeit scary when they occur). The dizziness would chime with multiple extra beats too - if it's runs of PVCs, that's more worrisome and needs investigating.

A few other things it could obviously be too. All good thoughts.

He definitely needs an ecg as a priority. All the risk factors are there.
