Hi everyone,
I think it's important to mention that I am pregnant.
Today I've woken up with an extremely sore throat, and a purple tongue?!?!
It hurts to swallow, my throats feels swollen and itchy. Also very white at the back of the throat. I have a few raised spots at the back of my tongue also.
For the last week I've noticed some of my teeth thinning out, and turning 'clear'. Nothing has changed within the week. My oral care involves brushing twice a day, using dental floss, using mouthwash, and I also use a tongue cleaner. None of this seems to be helping, as it just appears as though I don't even brush my teeth. My breathe also really smells, prior to the sore throat arriving.
Does anyone have any advice for me? I'm more worried about the purple tongue, as I've never heard of this before.
My GP usually have a wait of 3 weeks for an appointment, and I doubt they'd see me as an emergency tomorrow? They close on weekends.
Also my local dentist have no space for new patients, and I've been trying to get hold of the other local one for 2 days with no luck.
I feel a little stuck with what to do now, and I'm worried about if any of these symptoms could be affecting my unborn baby. I've read online that thin clear teeth could be due to lack of calcium, however I do eat a lot of cheese during the day, so thinking perhaps a deficiency of some sort?!
Would really love some advice, thank you.
