Why has DS been referred for MRI scan?

Another thread has spooked me a bit. DS (19 yrs) has had a lump on his shin for a while which a physio told him was shin splints. His doctor at uni has recently referred him first for an x-ray and now for an MRI. He has a lot of leg pain when he exercises.

What worried me from another thread is he was diagnosed with severs disease aged 12 yrs, as a toddler he was tested to rule out leukaemia because of nose bleeds and some other issues and as a baby he was hospitalised because of an issue with his white cell count. My imagination is now running riot.

The MRI will be to rule out anything worrying but it's much more likely to be something minor. Things like Severs when he was younger won't have anything to do with bone problems later on. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the results
