How long were you off work after appendectomy?

I just had my appendix out on Thursday evening after coming down with appendicitis. The operation was laparoscopic but I'm surprised by how little I can do. I've been discharged from hospital but I'm just about able to go the loo, change clothes etc.

For anyone else who's had one, how long did it take you to recover and how long were you off work?

I had mine taken out a couple of years ago.
I was told 3 weeks til you feel ok and 5 weeks until you feel back to normal. It was about right for me. I was at home as I had a baby but it was exhausting and I got quite run down afterwards.
Look after yourself and take as much time as you need.

I had 3 weeks off then went back part time for another 3. I felt relatively ok but it really hurt to drive until after 6ish weeks
