Bloody twitching

For the last couple of weeks, I have had burning, tingling, electric shocks in legs. This has turned to twitching all over. I have seen two neurologists in the last few days. I had a full neurologist exam each time. Both cleared me each time, saying I was perfectly healthy. The problem is that I made the mistake of googling and up popped MND. As it has twitching. I have asked neurologists and they said I didn't have it according to the exam. But I am driving myself mad with worry, I have Borderline personality disorder and tend to fixate on things. But I'm convinced I have it. I have an appropriate at GP on Thursday for worries. Has anyone else had twitches etc, really worried I'm gonna die from this disease. I have an 8 yr old son and I need to get over this for his sake. Thanks

Do you already use magnesium?

If two neurologists say you don't have mnd then you don't have mnd - they are experts and would know.

GP appointment is a good idea to discuss how you can get over this.

I've been suffering from twitching in various parts of my body - thighs, arms, hands, nose (!), eyes, lips etc for the past 18 months. Sometimes it settles down for a few weeks, sometimes it's rampant with huge noticeable twitches.

I was also worried, but had a neurology check-up (just a physical exam checking reflexes etc) and they said it was benign fasciculation syndrome and nothing to worry about.

I have to say I do still worry about it, but no great harm has come to me yet. Often comes along with anxiety (which I have, and it sounds like you do), stress, poor sleep and too much caffeine.

I think BFS is fairly common. I think we have to trust the experts on this :)

Thanks for replies, I was not diagnosed with BFS, he said just ignore it. My left arm and wrist ache though, so worried about that.

Hi I'm another one who has twitching which sometimes goes on for a long time. I have had it on and off for at least 30 years.I found that magnesium helped mine. Please try not to worry it's very likely to be benign fasiculation. It's terrible isn't it when we google our symptoms?

I don't think that benign fasciculation syndrome is a diagnosis - it's just the medical term for harmless twitching that you should (in theory) ignore!

Have your blood calcium levels been checked?

May not be relevant but I got twitches after starting anti depressants. I had to come off them quickly and the symptoms resolved. Just thought I'd mention on the off chance. I hope it's improving for you
