Question about the Pill - migraine on withdrawal week.

Posting here rather than FP for more traffic.

Bad migraines on the withdrawal week - one DD gets this. Already on a very low dose combined pill. Any ideas? Pregnancy is a no-no so it has to be something that works. Are there pills that work without a break?

Headaches in the pill free work aren't uncommon due to the drop in hormones, but if your DD is having genuine migraines with 'aura'/ visual disturbances then she shouldn't be on the combined pill at all. Progestogen only pills (without oestrogen) may be more suitable, although irregular bleeding can sometimes be a problem, though often settles. These are taken daily without a break. She would need to be a reliable pill taker but it may be worth a swap to these or even consider other progesterone only alternatives such as the depo injection, implant or IUS (coil).

I had it, tried a few pills. in the end I gave up. just didn't work for me.

yeah I know it's common- had it myself for years and with hrt now. she has been on the pill for 10 years - doesn't get aura with migraines. Different types over 10 years.

I know about POP and implants etc. was asking about a pill that avoids withdrawal.
