How long for enema to work?

Hi I'm really struggling with constipation I've been using senna two pills per day and lactulose and been ok at going to the toilet. I had surgery on Tuesday and I over did it on the laxatives. On Wednesday I went to the toilet. I think I went on Thursday. I haven't been since.
I've just used a micolette enema. It didn't work. I kept it in for like 15 mins and laid on my side with cramps. My husband said the chemist told him I can take another one. So I've just used another. I feel so uncomfortable. I'm cramping etc.
The first one just produced brown water and I fear I've got a big impaction again. I haven't yet checked as I don't want to agravate my bowel any more then it is.
Shall I try to keep this second one in longer and what should I do if it doesn't work? I'm coping ok but don't want this to turn into a massive problem like it has in the past.

For me
Senna and lactolose don't work.
Try the micro enema, but you could try something stronger like a phosphate enema.
You could also take on top of the enema up to 8 movicle or laxido sachets a day for impaction.

Hi rolling I've now taken nearly 8 sachets of cosmocol and prune juice as the mini enema didn't work. When I had an impaction before I was given a large enema in a bottle to help.
I'm so uncomfortable this evening. Hoping it sorts out this evening 🙁 interesting what you had to take about the Senna. I was always under the impression that cosmocol was the best but was told by a doctor I also need something to stimulate my guts
I'm long term on opiate medicines and they are wrecking my health
