I'm scared- gynae op tomorrow with SPD

Hi all, I hope someone is awake. I'm having an op tomorrow, gynae stuff (vaginal repair and tvt). I'm terrified they are going to put me in stirrups. I have SPD and a prolapsed disc from pregnancy nearly 8 years ago, and then a hysterectomy two days after birth. I know that Stirrups will make my back and hips worse. Is there anything I can do? Tia if anyone is awake.

Have you spoken to the team who are going to be looking after you about your concerns? The anaesthetist is a good person to talk to as they are generally responsible for looking after you while you are under anaesthetic.

Tbh I haven't seen anyone except a nurse for my ore op since July last year. I don't have much faith in them anyway since the c section caused me to need the hysterectomy and then this op in the first place. I'll speak to the anesthetist tomorrow though, thanks for your reply 😊

Yes I second speaking to them. Totally different situation but I had a big ankle op and the surgeon said they'd have to turn me while I was asleep; I explained that I have a bulging disc in my back and she said they'd take extra care turning me. Afterwards she asked if my back was OK (it was) and said they'd been very careful.
