Chicken Pox - can you get the virus again, without the spots?

My DC had fullblown chicken pox two years ago, and we are in the midst of a seasonal outbreak at school and pre-school. DS1 had high temperature over the weekend but is fine now. DS2 was just sent home from preschool with a temp of 101. His teacher suggested it might just be the chicken pox virus, without the spots. Anyone had expereince of this?

there are a lot of nasty viruses around. once you've had cpox it's in your system and although I think you can get it again mildly, it usually just lurks around and may be "triggered" again later to turn into shingles.

You can definately get the virus again although its not common. Don't know about the no spots thing but its quite common for children to be ill for a day or two before the spots emerge.

yes you definately can get them more than the once. my friends 8 year old daughter is on her third bout of chicken pox since last september. I dont no if you can have it without spots though, but definately varying degree of spots, she had spots worst on second bout of them
