Until my mum had hip replacement surgery a couple of months ago she was a sprightly 70 something lady with few ailments but although the surgery went well & recovery is going as planned she suddenly has several ailments/illnesses and seems very much an "old" lady.
Firstly she had a cough which didn't clear up & they now think she has COPD despite never smoking & she's had constipation on & off since the op and is now eating very little, feeling sick all the time & apparently dry heaving whilst trying to eat. I haven't seen her for over a week as I'm also recovering from surgery but when I talk to her on the phone it's like a different person. She has seen a gp today & he is referring her for investigations but that doesn't help the immediate problems.
Any suggestions?
