Hi .

I was/am ? 3 days late and have had al the pregnancy symptons as in car sickness, tiredness and tea tastes funny which were signs of my previous pregnancys. I tested on due day and got a very faint line and then two negatives.

I am now spotting a very dark brown blood not normal at all and dont know if this is implantation or not. My periods when normal always started normally with fresh red blood. This is totally different if you see what i mean. Ive also heard eptopic pregnancy causes this dark brown blood.

Can any one help.

I am not completely sure but I think when it is ectopic you always test positive not negative. Just wait a few days, if you can, and test again.

CP3 · 06/07/2004 11:14

If it was eptopic im sure i would be in pain anyway. I just want to get this sorted, ive been an absolute wreck all week. I know i should just go to the Docs but i have a gynea appointment in a month anyway and i dont want to waste docs time on what possibly could just be an abnormal period.

CP3 is there no early preg unit you can go to to reassure yourself? My friend had ectopic but no pain early on. sounds like an implantation bleed to me hon, but i'm no expert. hth x keep your pecker up.

gothicmama · 06/07/2004 11:53

with ectopic you usually test positive perhaps it is an early mc or implantation bleed I would go to gp asap to put your mind at rest I had no pain with my ectopic and they operated just in time

i had a pain yesterday on one side, felt very much like ovulation pain, and then had some light spotting later in the evening. the pain has gone today and the spotting has stopped, but i'm sure something similar happened with the dd's around the same time.

Jimjams · 06/07/2004 14:29

You may be having a very early m/c. it happened to me in the way you describe. Very faint positive, then period a few days late which started with spotting.

You don't always test positive with an ectopic though. If it continues to spot and you don't start to bleed properly iyswim I would get checked out before going on holiday.

CP3 · 06/07/2004 17:19

Jim Jams im really scared of internals though. Would they do that?

It's really important to go and get it checked as a positive (I take it that is what the faint line was?) followed by a negative can be a sign of an eptopic (hopefully it won't be but definately sth to check before going on hols)

Mirage · 06/07/2004 22:18

If there is any chance it is ectopic,no one should do an internal examination. What they normally do is take bloods every 72 hours to check that your pregnancy hormones are doubling properly & give you an internal scan if you are 6 weeks pg or more.

Dark or prune juice coloured blood can indicate an ectopic, plus one sided pain or pain in your shoulder blades. But like Gothicmama,I had no pain with my ectopic.

I hope it is just an implantation bleed or old blood.I bled with my 2nd pregnancy & dd arrived perfectly fine.

Kepp us posted.

Charlie charlie charlie - please please please, go back to the doctors
tomorrow

CP3 · 07/07/2004 22:43

Well it wasnt meant to be. Was quite ill last night with cramps and bleeding. Doc says hes sure it is an early m/c as i took my posotive faint result into him, and he confirmed it.

I feel fine just a little guilty as i wasnt ready for another one yet. Dont get me wrong, im not relieved, far from it i just wonder that if id stopped excercising and and lugging the kids around, when i first had pregnancy symptons then he/she may have had a better chance. IYSWIM

Cest la vie
