Propranolol and asthma

My neurologist wants to give me a low dose of this to help both chronic headaches and anxiety. He's aware of my mild, even questionable, asthma. My GP won't agree saying it's contraindicated and everything I've read seems to suggest the same. I spoke to the pharmacist who says 10mg twice a day will be fine but now I'm nervous. Have any other fellow asthmatics been prescribed this beta blocker?

I was given it for migraines, (no history of asthma except for after two horrible chest infections)...and the wheezing was terrible....felt totally out of breath even climbing the stairs to bed

I rationed it down to 1 every other night, but even that still made me feel puffy on dog walks, so I have knocked it on the head.

Migraines seem to have faded...pretty sure mine are hormonal (teen surge/pregnancy surge, and now the lovely menopausal stage) and I seem to be coming out of a horrible phase of them so not taking the beta blockers has not mattered
