What could it be?

My son has suffered with a sore nose for years now, on the one side of his nostril I can see a little sore, he says it gets blocked and crusty to the point he struggles breathing so has to pick it and blow water through his nose to get rid of it, which always ends with it bleeding a lot. He has been to the doctors so many times and they've always prescribed him antibiotics or nose sprays which hasn't made any difference. He's now got an appointment with ENT, but does anyone have any idea of what it could be?

He's said to me tonight what if it's cancer or something and now I'm really worried.

could be totally unrelated but i always know when im going to get a really bad cold or virus as I'll get a sore come up in my nostril. I assume this is because im getting run down or some sort immune reaction.

Has your ds been prescribed anti-histamines either spray or systematic? might be worth a try.

Fwiw if the drs at any stage were concerned re cancer he would have been at the specialists before you knew which way was up. I really doubt it would be anything sinister.

Yes he has many of times. It used to only happen every couple of months but now it's constant.

I'd like to think if it was anything sinister then doctors would of clicked it but just don't know. I've had a google too which never helps. Just the fact he has it constantly.

I get a wee scabby bit in my nose every now & again if i leave it i end up with a blocked up nose.
I use Naseptin cream & that gets rid of it.

ive read thats caused by staph A, the same bacteria that causes impetigo. so maybe the cream that treats mild impetigo would work?
